Vitalik, the founder of Ethereum, announced in his tweet on April 30 that Sharding will come. This statement published a new concept that demonstrates how to integrate the scalability solution into Ethereum’s main chain.
Sharding is a method used to increase the processing speed of a blockchain. On this method, more than one network computer is designed to be used over the chain, allowing the process load to be split up to create more in the same amount of time.
Vitalik Buterin says that the time spent processing these “shard” blocks, which are divided between computer groups, will be about 10 seconds.
Ethereum developers are looking for alternative ways to improve chain scalability for a while. It is anticipated that these alternatives will make it easier to compete with payment processors like Visa.
